We're making our 3/3A even better by extending our bus network to welcome new residents at Eagle Farm and Glebe Farm developments. Buses will follow a bidirectional circular route between Broughton, Kingston, Glebe Farm, Eagle Farm and Magna Park to allow for easy local connections, as well as a bus direct into the heart of the city centre and the rail station, up to every 15 minutes. We're also improving connectivity to Magna Park with bus timetables focused around shift times. Burney Drive will be served between Magna Park and Kingston, with new bus stops appearing in our journey planner and Google maps once MKCC have completed the behind the scenes work to add them to the national database. Message from the Parish Chair

Published: 1 Jan 24

Happy New Year - I am sure that as 2024 approaches many of us are starting to make plans for the new year, and as always at the council one of our hopes for the Wavendon community is that anyone who is looking to get more active as part of their new year resolutions will make the most of the expanding fantastic leisure facilities and activity programmes that will come on stream over 2024 including the expanding playing fields at the Wavendon Hub and the ever expanding array of activities being made available in each of our three community centres. Wavendon has grown dramatically over the past decade, from approx. 350 dwellings to now well over 3300 dwellings and with many more to come as South East Milton Keynes starts to be built out. We shall be working to develop our Parish Council policy of community integration celebrating the diversity and cultural diffusion this opportunity represents whilst pledging to monitor the impacts of such continual rapid growth on the health and wellbeing of all those we have the privilege to represent. Can I wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2024. David Hopkins Chairman – Wavendon Parish Council Read More...

New Years Message from the Chairman of Wavendon Parish Council

Published: 31 Dec 20

New Year’s Message This year has been uniquely challenging and difficult. We have seen the worst public health emergency in a century as Covid-19 spread and the nation entered the first of several lockdowns on March 23. 2020 will shortly be coming to an end. I do not suppose that many people in Wavendon will regret its passing. The normal patterns of everyday living, working, shopping, seeing family and friends has not been possible. The latter has been particularly upsetting over the Christmas period. Many people have lost their employment and businesses have sadly closed as the pandemic severely impacts our economy. Despite these awful circumstances we have all seen inspiring service from NHS and social care staff and in fact from everyone who works hard to keep our society functioning. As we enter 2021 we all hold on to hope for a better year to come for ourselves, families and communities. 2021 will be better! Vaccines will be available to minimize the threat posed by Covid-19. Although we shall never be able to ignore the virus which, I suspect like influenza will always be a feature of life in the future, we shall return to a safer normality. 2021 will be better! To you all I wish a safe, peaceful and prosperous New Year. Cllr David Hopkins Chairman- Wavendon Parish Council Read More...
