Please be advised that the Council, in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following traffic regulation Order: Milton Keynes City Council (The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes) (Parts of A421, Standing Way (H8), Groveway (H9) and A5130 Newport Road, Milton Keynes) (40 mph and 60mph Speed Restriction) Order 2015) Revocation (In Part) Order 2024 The general effect of the above proposed Order will be to revoke the existing 40mph speed restriction on Newport Road in Wavendon, Milton Keynes and replace with a 30mph speed restriction by virtue of street lighting. The Councils reason for reducing the speed limit on H5 Portway comes as a result of the ongoing development in the area. The Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the above proposal. Consultation We would like to do more to improve road safety by taking action against drivers who commit certain moving traffic offences. To do this we will need to introduce a new Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for the sites where we want to take action. This would give us the legal powers to issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) to drivers who contravene certain types of parking and traffic offences at specified locations by using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. We've identified sites where we would start to implement these proposals and we'd like to hear your views on issues like obstructive parking outside schools and on footways. Please complete the survey by clicking on the link below. The survey results will help us to understand public opinion on these issues and to plan future actions. Read More...

We're making our 3/3A even better by extending our bus network to welcome new residents at Eagle Farm and Glebe Farm developments. Buses will follow a bidirectional circular route between Broughton, Kingston, Glebe Farm, Eagle Farm and Magna Park to allow for easy local connections, as well as a bus direct into the heart of the city centre and the rail station, up to every 15 minutes. We're also improving connectivity to Magna Park with bus timetables focused around shift times. Burney Drive will be served between Magna Park and Kingston, with new bus stops appearing in our journey planner and Google maps once MKCC have completed the behind the scenes work to add them to the national database. Happy New Year - I am sure that as 2024 approaches many of us are starting to make plans for the new year, and as always at the council one of our hopes for the Wavendon community is that anyone who is looking to get more active as part of their new year resolutions will make the most of the expanding fantastic leisure facilities and activity programmes that will come on stream over 2024 including the expanding playing fields at the Wavendon Hub and the ever expanding array of activities being made available in each of our three community centres. Wavendon has grown dramatically over the past decade, from approx. 350 dwellings to now well over 3300 dwellings and with many more to come as South East Milton Keynes starts to be built out. We shall be working to develop our Parish Council policy of community integration celebrating the diversity and cultural diffusion this opportunity represents whilst pledging to monitor the impacts of such continual rapid growth on the health and wellbeing of all those we have the privilege to represent. Can I wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2024. David Hopkins Chairman – Wavendon Parish Council Read More...
