Update as 11 August 2024
We are a few months away from Wavendon Parish Council being able to take over the responsibility for the allotments in both Eagle Farm and Glebe Farm.
On Eagle Farm there will be 22 allotment plots over four sites, six on site one, five on site 2, seven on site 3 and four on site 4. The last four will not be ready for another year.
Currently we have 40 residents from Eagle Farm that have expressed an interest in hiring a plot.
In total there will now be 32 allotment plots available in Glebe Farm and currently there are 57 residents to date that have expressed an interest in hiring a plot.
There is still some legal work to be concluded on the handover of the allotments in Eagle Farm and Glebe Farm and the Parish Council are working with MKCC to make sure that the soil is of good quality and a water supply and meters are installed.
Wavendon Parish Council are current working on a budget and hire charges for a decision to be made at the September 2024 or October 2024 Parish Council meeting.
Wavendon Parish Council will be holding a couple of progress meetings with MKCC in August 2024 and every effort will be made to provide a more detailed update within the next three months with a view to having hire agreements in place to start to hire the allotments out to residents from the end of February 2025.
The policy of Wavendon Parish Council is that residents will be offered plots for Eagle Farm that live in Eagle Farm and for Glebe Farm that live in Glebe Farm as there is limited parking space at each site. These will be offered to residents in date of application order.
